BlueBound Women Podcast / Episode #5: Interview with Danel, South African scuba instructor who also teaches underwater photography

“I guess when it comes to being in a marine environment or in a career like marine biology, which is also quite male dominated, it is very nice having a strong empowering group of waterwomen around you. Whenever I’m facing a hard time, I could talk to any of them, get their advice, which is also what I love about the BlueBound community – it’s so many empowering women, it’s truly truly inspiring.”

Ever wondered what a nudibranch was? Or underwater hockey? Or how to take good photos underwater?

Then we have the answers for you! Today we were joined by the eclectic and energetic Danel, a South African scuba diving instructor who has a degree in Marine Biology and teaches underwater photography.

Join us for a quick chat about the obscure sport of underwater hockey, the strange but cute marine life you might find when taking photographs (like nudibranchs!), advice for your first dive and photo session, and why being part of a water woman community is a source of empowerment!

P.S. You can listen to our podcast on Anchor, Spotify, Radio Podcasts and Google Podcasts.
